I am skeptical. In my admittedly limited contact with the banking crowd in China, I have yet to run into into any non-Chinese investment professional who has been fluent enough in mandarin to really hold their own in the language, let alone have much insight into the practical requirements for running a business in China.

First of all, I'd like to thank you for a very interesting blog.

Unfortunately, it's not only in the PE industry this occurs. I've talked with a lot of MNC in China having done M&A's during the last 1 to 10 years, and they all admit that it's extremely easy to be "trigger happy" in China. HQ is pushing for action, with little ability to oversee all investments. I hope that both domestic and foreign firms will be more focused on quality-driven investments in the future, creating value for the customer in the end.

I'll keep reading the blog with great enthusiasm!
